Item 0806

DESIGN: SynchroLite ~ Rotor - Blade - Composite - VR-7b - Trailing Edge Block

Outside Helicopter

Calvert (University of Maryland Proposal)

The trailing edge wedge is to be made from chopped fiber using a V-channel machined from stock aluminum. The mold will be coated with a release agent, the channel will be filled with chopped fiberglass/epoxy and cured at room temperature.

My thoughts: The idea of using thread in leiu of chopped fiber should be stronger an lighter (less epoxy). It should also be vacuum bagged to remove excess epoxy and to for material into base of 'V'. What consideration should be made for tab?
