Item 1329

DESIGN: SynchroLite ~ Rotor - Hub - 3-blade - CVJ & HS - Bearing - Mast - Torque

Overview of Mast Bearing(s):

Method A:

This may have to be the one ~ if 1341 or another good elastomeric idea does not come up.

Drawing:

Consider the follow Rzeppa CV Joint for the initial torque bearing.

Design Torque:

The maximum torque at each rotor hub is 396 / 2 = 198 ft-lb = 2,352 in-lb.

The bearing might have to have a much-increased strength to handle the rotor generated inplane loads. Note that the masts will absorb some of the loading but this will affect the inter-azimuth phasing of the two rotors, slightly.

Method B:

Drawing:

This was the original thought.

This is 1301-C.jpg

The following is the latest idea.

The inner mid shims are one part and it does not deform. It is the central plane.

Maximum angle is 12º plus the fact that the arc is 120º not 180º.
